I started selling on Ebay long before it became a household name. At the time selling on Ebay did not include NEW items. Antiques and collectable were all you could find. The listing fees and ending value rates were reasonable. People bid freely and you always got a fair price for you item. At the time Ebay selling did not include "Buy it Now" and there were no proxy bids.
It was not international at the time but you did get to meet and speak to people from all over the country; many who had your same interests. People were always pleasant and feedback was usually glowing.
Paypal did not exist but people were always happy to accept a money order. Ebay selling was a pleasure and you felt a sense of community with everyone dealt with.
Those days of selling on Ebay are definitely gone and have been replaced by big business and power sellers.
